STANTON Edward Lovell line – 1813

This Edward was a cousin of our Edward Stanton.  

Two Edwards from two separate brothers in County Mayo. Edward landed in Burntisland in Fife where he found work labouring for the stonemasons. He married Catherine Lavell or Lovell in Ireland, moving to Burntisland where some of their kids were born. They stayed here for some years but to moved to Edinburgh c 1858.  Hunter’s Close was through a Vennell off the Grassmarket. It remains there today. Address given as 77 Grassmarket.

Cousin Edward Stanton was born in C1813. Catherine was 13 years younger.

    I linked to your site from Ancestry as I’m a decendent of Edward Stanton and Catherine Lavell. What you have created here is amazing! It’s so exciting to find so many people you are related to in some way.
    I wondered if you had any information on Edward’s parents? I’m assuming if your Edward is cousin to my Edward they must have had the same Grandparents. All these Edwards gets so confusing lol! My great grandfather is also Edward. He died in WW1 and is buried in Greece.

    thanks for your comment Laurraine. I will check out what I have on your Edward. I do agree most of the Stanton/Staunton clan all had the same names and is really confusing when trying to trace one branch at a time
